The Educational Support Department – Special Education at Rayat Al-Alamain is recruiting experienced and qualified therapists in Iraq.


Occupational Therapist (OT)

The Occupational Therapist will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs by helping them develop, recover, and improve the skills necessary for daily living, learning, and participation in school activities. The successful candidate will assess students’ physical, sensory, cognitive, and motor abilities, create individualized intervention plans, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure students reach their full potential. The role requires a compassionate professional who can adapt therapeutic strategies to meet the unique needs of each student while maintaining accurate records and progress reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
  • Valid Professional License
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience
  • Experience working with children and special education programs is preferred
  • Strong communication, assessment, and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments and evaluations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Improve students’ fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
  • Collaborate with educational and support staff
  • Monitor progress and adjust therapy programs as needed
  • Provide recommendations for adaptive equipment and classroom accommodations

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders while developing individualized therapy plans that enhance students’ academic performance and social interaction skills; supporting students experiencing speech, language, communication, and related developmental challenges. Working closely with educators, parents, and support professionals, the Speech-Language Pathologist will contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment where students can communicate effectively and confidently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Valid Professional License
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience
  • Experience working with children in educational settings is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech and language evaluations
  • Design and implement individualized therapy programs
  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions
  • Assist students with articulation, language, fluency, and communication challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers and families to support student development
  • Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports

Physical Therapist (PT)

The Physical Therapist will assess students’ physical abilities, develop customized treatment plans, and deliver interventions aimed at improving strength, balance, coordination, posture, and mobility; and provide therapeutic support for students with physical, mobility, and developmental challenges. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary educational environment, helping students participate more effectively in classroom and school activities while promoting their overall physical well-being and independence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or related field
  • Valid Professional License
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience
  • Pediatric or school-based therapy experience is preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
